| and to the hospital.... |
[18 Jan 2003|04:42pm] |
Thursday's show was an adventure let me tell you. Zac stomping on my hand with his knee, which was sweet, getting punched in the stomach EXTREMELY hard, which was sweet and then...
From a Second Story Window is an incredible, extremely talented metalcore band from Sharon, PA, that we happened to play with in Newark. Zac and I talked to Derek for a while at their show and got to know him pretty well. During their set, we went absolutely nuts, seriously fucking crazy. People were scared. Anyways...the band loves that we were just off that wall and showed a lot of respect to us. So we got them to play down here on Thursday.
During their set, in the middle of us going...of the wall (and Derek literally going off the wall), the bassist Joe kinda rocked the swinging of the bass a little too hard and accidently nailed Derek in the face. Everyone kinda was like "holy shit!" at first, but Derek, being the trooper he is, kept playing for about 2 minutes.
The blood didn't start at first, but then it proceeded to pour out of what we thought was his nose. I think everyone thought it was a nosebleed, nothing major. There was blood everywhere though, somehow, it got inside his shoe and on the back of his shirt...Anywayzzz, after the set he ran outside and sat down. I don't know why...but he thought he could just sit it out...in the cold. I followed him out and soon realized that it wasn't his nose. He had about an inch and a half long abrasion on his face next to his nose and it was deep. Rockin' stuff let me tell you. I told him he needed to go to the emergency room, he didn't want to. He thought he was 'too hardcore' for the emergency room, so I knocked him out in one punch and threw him there.
Ok, that didn't happen, but I did drive him there. He got blood all over my leather seats so I punched him...or not, but I followed Zac there because I forgot where it was. The singer Jeff rode bitch in my backseat which I thought was funny.
Derek honestly waited in the emergency room for like 45-1 hour in probably some extreme pain. Poor guy. He took it like a man and they stitched his ass right up. 7 or 8 stitches I think. Rock on.
Well, my parents got pissed off at me because it was an 'exam' night. They didn't bother to think that it was what anyone with a heart would've done, and I didn't see anyone else that cared enough to do that. So I got in trouble...they don't realize that uh...I don't give a shit if I get in trouble for that stupid reason. I did a good thing, and acted a responsible adult.
Thanks Derek for being super cool, and super nice and don't think that you owe me anything, because Lydia said something about that...You don't owe me crap dawg. Maybe a T-Shirt, I dunno. hahahahaha!!!! No but seriously, GIMME!! :)
Well, that was probably the most interesting night I've had for a while. I'm kinda glad it happened in some ways, those guys are really nice people and I wish them the best in the future. They've got my ears, that's fo' show. *gives an internet high 5*

Yesterday at work I took a piss in the urinal...turns out every I was destined to destroy the whole store with the flush of the urinal. It started spewing out water, and it didn't stop for like 10 minutes, and that ain't no water fountain. More like a waterfall. It was incredible. Somehow, the water found a sweet way to piss me off by going down a drain right above the frozen food section...which got pretty flooded, and Jeff Hahn was almost destroyed by a ceiling tile. I saw it all, and I could've cried, but I was too busy laughing and being proud of the destruction I had caused.
I worked today and I found out my front manager's grandfather had just passed away, I didn't know and I was being a complete jerk to him for like the first hour. I felt really bad.
Exams!!! Yay!!! Who cares again? Oh yeah, everyone because you suck.

| Yeah good movies! |
[12 Jan 2003|11:17pm] |
Watched 2 totally sweet movies this weekend. Last night I watched American History X, such an incredible movie. If Edward Norton wasn't in it though, I don't know if it'd even be half as good. The guy is such a great actor, up there with Willem Dafoe and De Niro on my list now. This movie is one of the only movies that has ever really made me think about how sick this world really is, and the fact that there are Nazi punk bands everywhere...yeah...
I also watched Dawn of the Dead, the classic George Romero zombie/gore/splatter film. Truly a well made, well acted, well written, well directed movie. There are some powerful moments in that movie I'll tell you, and just the side messages that the film shows. The bonding of complete strangers during a time of war, but not any war, war against blood craving zombies. It honestly doesn't suprise me that Ebert calls this "one of the greatest films ever made". It really is, and it's suspenseful too. Like WHOA! There are some nasty ass parts in that movie though, which rule. The whole exploding head scene...just great.
I just made an entire entrance about how good 2 movies are. That's crazy.
Too bad Dawn of the Dead is still $90 on DVD. The DVD sucks too.

| Weird stuff, I'm tellin ya. |
[11 Jan 2003|09:42pm] |
Today on the way to practice, I was listening to Dimmu Borgir, a Satanic Black Metal band...and my mile-ometer(whatever it's called) read 666 when arrived at Jordan's house. Actually it read in decimals probably something like 666.66666666666667, which might be creepier, but I'm not really sure yet.
TELL ME THAT ISN'T WEIRD!!! No seriously do it. Just to let you know, if you post a comment that says "that isn't weird", or anything of that nature, I will never talk to you again. Ever. I mean I probably will, but still.
Well uh, Ialac has a show coming up and we still haven't practiced. What the crap?
Whatever...?

Yeah, so Sunday was sweet. I got in the grove of waking up early by waking up at noon...didn't do crap, because I got 4 1/2 hours of sleep. I did watch Childs Play though...that ruled pretty hard. Well, yesterday nothing happened accept I almost did something probably.
Today I worked, and nothing exciting ever happens in my life, so I guess it's the fiction version of my life--
I woke up to the sound of an exploding goat outside, it was like the movie Bad Taste totally and people were throwing up on each other while walking in acid with fire shoes. On the way to school, I hit a giraffe and it spoke to me and then it exploded. When I got to school, some naked hot chick totally hit on me and then she exploded too. During lunch, I got this bag of chips and it imploded, which I found weird...then it exploded, which was cool. When I got home, I took a power-nap for 90 hours and didn't have to go to work at all ever, but I still got paid. Then my sister came home, and she exploded. My dog didn't explode, because she rocks.
That'll be all.
Whatever

Man, this break sucked a lot. I've been sick all break and uh...IT PISSES ME OFF 2 THE XXXTREME. Geez! I didn't have one moment of relaxation because whenever I sit down, just to sit...I end up coughing for like 2 hours. It sucks more than anything because when I cough, I cough so hard I nearly throw up!
Last night I went over to Zac's and wrote some new Ialac stuff...I don't know what will become of Ialac. No one seems to want to do it anymore. I'm guessing the next practice will be the determining factor on the future of Ialac, which kinda sucks. We'll see what happens.
I'm usually not about 'starting over' on New Years, but with a few things, I wouldn't mind at all. Like my relationships with a few people, sometimes I'd just like to start over, but that'll never happen because people suck.
I can't find anything else to say. Man, I shouldn't even post on this damn thing anymore. It's all meaningless crap.

What a weird day. I thought I had to work at like 1pm today, but that turned into 4...then it turned into 3:30...3:30 to at first nine...then 8, but I left at like 7...what the crap? Weirdest work day ever. So...after work I took some of those good ol' Best Buy gift certificates, went up to Best Buy(duuuh) and I got about as far as the parking lot. I've never seen that place so damn busy...ever. I mean, it was to be expected, but still...what the hell?
My ears suck, they're all congested, stupid jerks. I need my ears desperately to be working at full capacity!!! Geeeez!!!
Tonight after all that crap I went over to Erika's to watch a movie. Got there around 8...and I didn't get home until 2am. Crazy stuff lemme tell you. We sat around and talked until like 9:30, then we went and got a movie, Ice Age. We didn't end up watching it until like midnight because her sister and her friends were watching some J-Ho movie until then. So during that time I sat around with Erika and her mom like basically shoved food down my throat. Nice lady. If I'm ever hungry/lazy/lazy/hungry, I know she'd make me some food. Dang, I really love being around Erika though...I mean even though we had some 'problems' that kinda turned things upside down, I'm able to look past that and just kinda spend quality time with her with no worries. Great feeling. We haven't been hanging out that much, and I regret that because I have an incredible time with her. Oh yeah, Ice Age ruled. And I'm stealing her little puppy. It's the most adorable thing ever...(crap, I'm such a pansy for not taking that little shit with me tonight...hah!)
So I guess today wasn't as boring as I thought it'd be. Killa.

Yeah we rocked out so hard last night. Even though I'm getting sick, I still rocked it hardcore.
First band was us, Ialac! We had to play with Alex since Brett sucks at not calling off work. Suprisingly, the show went quite well and the turnout was incredible. There were at least 120 or more kids in there at times. Crazy! Ryan McMullen and Crazy Carl were our micstands, and they ruled at that. Carl has a full time occupation now as the Official Ialac Equipment Carrier. Sounds awesome, but it really sucks. He seems to enjoy it. If anybody else wants to be one, just give me a holla.
2 Nu Metal bands played after us and they both sucked a bunch except for one thing...about both bands, their drummer. Both drummers were like...amazing like that's all I did was watch the drummers.
From A Second Story Window, Pennsylvania Fucking Metal. That's what their shirt says, and it couldn't be more true. They're soooo friggin' energetic live. Their guitar player Derek, Derrick, however he spells it was probably the nicest dude ever...and the most crazy guitar player I've ever seen. Me, Zac, and Alex tore it up during there set, we tore it up so hard Derek said we invented a new style by mixing typical breakdown mosh with our own spazzy role around on the floor and tackle eachother thing. It ruled.
Waking Kills the Dream, last time I saw them they had like 3 different members or something. It's crazy. Anyways, the crowd loved them, maybe one guy did a little too much. He totally got knocked on his ass because he was being a hardass. One of Shawn's friends Mike or something fuckin' bashed this 6'3-ish 230lbs in the face and knocked him down and knocked out. Dude had a HUGE gash in the back of his head. The show stopped and the big drunk dude went to the hospital.
Fun stuff. Got back at 1am, maybe later, I don't really remember. Zac stayed over and I went to work from 1:30-3:30pm. WOO WEE!

Do I listen to Converge too much? Is there such thing as 'too much Converge'? Sometimes I wonder...
Yeah, Sociology test today turned out to be really hard and I think I probably failed it. Oh well. That class as cool as it is, is starting to fall because of all the BS that goes on in that class. A whole lot of talking, and me missing things. Stupid people. Wait, I'm thinking of Current Issues. FUCK. I'm still getting them confused. Mothertrucker.
Well, I worked today and that was pretty fun. I totally got hit by a car on my way out. IT WAS MY FRIGGIN' BOSS. It wasn't really a hit, he just kinda backed up into me purposely. It's cool though I only almost died. (I'm gonna kill you, you lazy fuck)
Whatever, I'm still smilin!

Well, I guess today was pretty good. I got somethings accomplished with the help of one special person(you'll probably never read this, but thank you). I'm not feelin' too down right now, which is sweet because I've been stressing over somethings lately that've just been bothering the HELL out of me. Yeah, cool.
Um, we're gonna try to play a show on friday I guess. I'm gonna kill Brett, seriously. Not a good move dude. Now Alex has to step in for him, that's really sad. Yeah, really sad and dumb of Brett. If you're gonna be in Ialac, you're gonna be commited at least a little bit. It's cool though, we'll give him ONE more chance. haha, it's cool actually to me. I mean, we'll have a lot of fun with Alex.
Hooray for Sociology tests. At least I'm getting an 86% in that class.

So aside from not having any hours this week, going deaf in one ear for an hour, and having the cops stop by my house yesterday, and other random crappy crap, this weekend...well it still sucked. I slept for about 16 hours on Saturday...yay. And I woke up at 1 today. I'm never gonna get to sleep tonight. Someone punch me in the face.
This week shouldn't be too bad though. I have some hours and we're playing on Friday. Suh-weet. We should probably get some lyrics to that new song. DOUG.

Well, only like...4...5...8...6...days until our next show. Whenever the 20th is I guess. Next friday or somethin. Who cares? Here's how it is...
It's the Waking Kills the Dream CD release show...they fuckin' rule so you should go. Bands Playing- Waking Kills the Dream-Duh...Metal mixed with like emo or something sweet like that Rune- Crazy metal/grindcore from around here. Recently signed to Relapse records(Dillinger Escape Plan, Nile, Uphill Battle, Burnt By the Sun...) From A Second Story Window- Straight up beat your ass metalcore. Ialac- Some sweet ass Nu Metal band from Newark Appl Brwn Bette- No wait, this is the sweet ass metal band. Even though they suck...a lot.
This show is gonna totally rule, or it's gonna suck balls. I'm not really sure. The mix of bands doesn't really fit too well. Metal and then us, emo/indie rock. What the crap?
Other stuff going on; I suck for being a wuss. And that will change...well, hopefully soon. I'm working on it(MOTHERFUCKER ASS DAMN SHIT FUCK)
It'll be oooook.

So I totally was sick to my stomach this morning, and I did not enjoy that at all...so I fell asleep for a bit, woke up at 10:45 and went to school at 11:30 because I was extremely bored, and I felt fine. And I...yeah...uh...wait, I came home and slept for a long while...then me and DP went to Magnolia and I got the Dream Theater 3 disc live CD because I'm a dork.
Download this song off of mp3.com or I'll stab you.

| Turkey Weekend |
[01 Dec 2002|07:06pm] |
Man this weekend rocked. I hung out Ryan Mcmullen for like 3 days straight basically, it was pretty awesome. Saw a few crappy movies, including stupid Solaris...I don't care how many times I say it. It sucked. Saw a few good movies, Pulp Fiction(40th time seein' that I'd bet...1st all the way through.) A certain Mr. Tim Sweeney and I went sledding, what a cool dude, taking me sledding, being related to one of my best friends(Zac Sweeney you idiots) and sounding like Sean Ingram. Yeah, it was fun though I got reeeeeeal hurt. Not so much when we were sledding, but afterwards. I don't know, when my feet went above my head and I landed on my upper back after going off a ramp...that was pretty much the epitome of instant pain.
What else did I do? Me and Alex played some old Ialac songs, but not really. I wrote a sweet ass riff for our 3 piece kill you band featuring Alex on the drummies, me on the guitar and screamies, and zac on the bass and screamies.
Anything else? Me and Megan K saw this Time and Distance band...guy. One guy with his acoustic, and it was pretty good stuff. Most of it sounded the same though, which kinda sucked. It's cool though, Megan K is a sweethaht(sweetheart Italian style).
Anything else? hmmm...oh, me, Erika and Jenn watched a little bit of "The Thing", and then Erika made me listen to the Ataris on the way home. I was not in the mood for them at all. It's cool, I couldn't really tell if she enjoyed the movie or not. I'll get it out of her!
Sweet ass weekend. Thank you no school.
